The Missionaries (1991-1997)
In the seven years they worked together, they were Maui's premiere Alternative Rock Band.
They composed & produced a full length original CD, won recognition from MTV's independent band contest & received mention in "Vanity Fair" magazine in an interview with screenwriter Joe Estherhaus.
Dennis Rodman, appearing on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno, talked about the time that he & Eddie Vedder of "Pearl Jam" joined the Missionaries on stage at a Lahaina night club.
Later, Rodman wrote about that experience in his book, "As Bad As I Want To Be".
After "Hootie & the Blowfish" had to cancel their outdoor concert due to rain, they contacted the Missionaries & arranged to hold the show on their turf. Rain soaked fans showed up in droves.
